The Grove Primary School Mission is to offer an holistic education of the highest quality and relevance to children from diverse backgrounds to develop their full potential as contributing members of society in the twenty-first century.

* Freedom from exploitation and neglect, and from emotional, verbal or physical and abuse
* Information concerning the education process and freedom to express opinion on matters affecting the educational process

* The best working conditions possible for teachers and pupils, with parental and management support
* Should there be reasonable cause, the school has the right to search any person entering the property

* To establish and maintain good communication with one another, while respecting confidentiality where necessary
* To fulfil commitments punctually
* To acquire and maintain self-discipline, and encourage it in others
* To use socially acceptable language and pay attention to the person who is speaking

* To attend meetings and gatherings and abide by the decisions of such meetings
* Pupils should wear the correct Grove uniform and be adequately prepared for each school day

In class acknowledge and greet all adult visitors
Stand back for adults in doorways and corridors
Stand if sitting when approached by an adult

COMMUNITY CONDUCT
1. CORRIDORS/STAIRWAYS
Move quietly and in single file
Keep to the left
Line up in double line outside classroom
Stack cases neatly outside
No running or eating
2. HALL/ASSEMBLY
* Hall out of bounds unless pupils supervised or given permission to be there
* For Assembly
- line up quickly outside hall
- lead in when quiet
- sit quietly
- respond appropriately (e.g. clapping)
- stand for principal
3. PLAYGROUNDS
* Don't litter
* No dangerous games or interfering with others' games
* Teachers' parking areas out of bounds
4. BATHROOMS
* Keep toilets and basins clean
* Respect privacy of others
* No games or horseplay
5. PROPERTY
* Respect all trees and plants
* Be security conscious
* No borrowing without permission or stealing
* No vandalism
* Treat school property with care
6. SPORT/EXTRA-MURALS/OUTINGS
* Honour commitments/be punctual
* Dress appropriately: matches/practices
* Excuse yourself personally to coach/organiser
* Matches - letter day before if participation not possible / phone call to school if sick on day
* Behave correctly while in transit
* Thank parents, teachers, referees, etc involved
* Spirit of sportsmanship - thank/congratulate all opponents
* Take responsibility for all equipment used.
7. GENERAL
* No smoking or substance abuse(alcohol/drugs)
* No person may deal with or have in his possession any of the substances referred to above.
* No person may have in his possession any dangerous object or use such an object against another person.
CONSEQUENCES - A system of reinforcement: rewards/penalties
CLASS - At the start of each year class teachers and classes establish by agreement behaviour and work norms and procedures. Rewards and penalties are also agreed upon.
ACADEMIC WORK - Gold stars, honour marks, certificates and prizes operate as rewards.
ASSEMBLY AWARD - Outstanding behaviour as observed by a number of teachers
