Swimming

We place great emphasis on being able to swim and water safety at The Grove.

The highlight of the swimming calendar has to be the Inter-house Gala.

It is held in the first term and everyone gets a chance to participate. We try our best to accommodate all levels of swimming even the teachers vs pupils race which, of course, the teachers won again.

Every class has a swimming lesson. A professional coach assists the Grade R to Grade 3 swimmers, getting in the water with the swimmers and concentrating on stroke correction.

Further up the grades there is also input on stroke correction but also a bit more emphasis on distance and fitness.

The swimming team participates twice a year in an Inter-Schools gala hosted by a different school each year. This year Grove won.
