We are one of the first Primary Schools to ban the single use plastic bag. Assisted by the Two Oceans Aquarium, we have created a plastic bag free zone. Alternative options are available to our children.
Our active and committed Eco Club have implemented the Ecobrick-Exchange project; this reduces plastic in the environment and creates building material.
Every term we Walk-to-School. This allows us to consider our carbon footprint; remember how important it is to exercise, be aware of our surroundings and develop spatial awareness.
Our water saving initiatives have seen the water consumption of The Grove drastically reduce. Our many decisions made in this regard include planting water friendly succulents; recycling water when we backwash our pool; rain water harvesting and a borehole installed.
