Application Process

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR 2022 ADMISSIONS:

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) requires parents to apply for Grades R – 7 online.

The application dates have not yet been published. 

Grade R 

If you would like to make an application to The Grove, please collect our application form from the school. Queries may be emailed to admissions@thegrove.co.za

Application forms for Grade R 2022 will be accepted from 1 February 2021. They may be collected from the school.  The closing date has not yet been published by the WCED.

Applications will open on 17 February 2020 and close on 17 March 2020. Please apply by using this link: wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za

Once you have applied online, you will also submit a hard copy application with the necessary supporting documentation to the school, within 14 days of you applying online.

Feedback for all grades will be given by the end of May 2020. For more information, please email admissions@thegrove.co.za

Grades 1 – 7

Applications for Grade 1 – 7 may only be submitted from 17 February 202017 March 2020.

The Western Cape Education Department requires parents to apply for Grades R – 7 online.

Applications will open on 17 February 2020 and close on 17 March 2020. Please apply by using this link: wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za

Once you have applied online, you will also submit a hard copy application with the necessary supporting documentation to the school, within 14 days of you applying online.

The following application process will be applicable for South African citizens:

All previous applications for 2020 will remain on our waiting list for the duration of 2020. Should a place become available we will contact the applicant. Applications will not be rolled over at the end of a year.

The following documentation must accompany the application form:

 

Copy of learner’s unabridged birth certificate (certified)
Copy of learner’s clinic card
Copy of both parents’ ID documents (certified)
Proof of residential address (recent certified copy of rates, levies, deed of sale or signed lease agreement only) not older than 3 months
Copy of most recent school report
For Grade 1 applications – copy of Grade R account

For non-SA citizens:

Requirement of all ‘enabling documents’ (such as temporary residence visa, permanent residence permit, asylum seeker‘s permit, study permit etc.) to be submitted with the application.

Documents to accompany the application:
Copy of the birth certificate issued by the country of origin must be attached
Proof of immunisation
Unabridged birth certificate
Copies of both parents’ passports (certified)
Proof of residential address (recent certified copy of rates, levies, deed of sale or signed lease agreement only) not older than 3 months.
Copy of most recent school report
For Grade 1 applications – copy of Grade R account

All applications must be delivered in person. No faxed or emailed applications will be considered unless you reside outside Cape Town.

PLEASE COMPLETE ALL SECTIONS.

Incomplete and illegible documentation will not be processed.

The Grove Primary School is a school of choice and each year we receive more applications than we can accommodate.

Not all applications can be accommodated.

Placement will be according to the Admission Policy.

If The Grove is not the nearest school to the applicant, the applicant MUST ALSO APPLY TO THAT SCHOOL WHICH IS NEAREST TO THEIR PLACE OF RESIDENCE.
